If you receive an automated call claiming to be your ISP, yes it
Broadband, and particularly superfast broadband, is a core tool for everyone now. We’ll review the possible options to find you a fast, reliable and consistent broadband that’s there when you need it.
An Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) works by splitting your existing telephone line signal into two; one for voice and the other for data. It is up to 40 times faster than dialup connections. By upgrading your line to carry digital signals instead of the current analogue system, it becomes capable of carrying data at a much higher rate than ever before. Constantly on, there is no waiting for a connection.
There are generally two types of Fibre Optic Broadband connections:
Fibre-to-the-Cabinet (FTTC) involves running fibre optic cables from the telephone exchange to the street cabinets. The last leg from the green street cabinet to your premises travels over a standard copper telephone line. You can achieve maximum down-load speed of up to 80 Mbps, and a maximum up-load speed of up to 20 Mbps.
Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) provides end-to-end fibre optic connection the full distance from the exchange to your site, and can deliver faster speeds than FTTC, as there is no copper leg.
Ethernet First Mile (EFM) is a way of delivering a high speed, robust Internet connection to your business. EFM uses bundles of copper wire pairs, which means fast installation times, low ongoing costs, and is not affected by other users locally. You have a set, guaranteed bandwidth, which is calculated on survey. Speeds are also symmetrical, so unlike a broadband & FTTC connection you get the same speeds up as you do down, with a maximum bandwidth of up to 20Mbps.
A Lease line is a private, dedicated line for your company; either linking two sites, or giving a single site robust connection and guaranteed level of service. The line can be used for data, voice and almost any type of digital media, and is very effective when sharing bandwidth-hungry applications between different offices.
Bandwidth can be provided between 1Mbps - 10 Gbps (Upload and Download) with the ability to flex bandwidth up or down as required.
